A Compositional Coalgebraic Semantics of Strategic Games
نویسندگان
چکیده
We provide a compositional coalgebraic semantics for strategic games. In our framework, like in the semantics of functional programming languages, coalgebras represent the observable behaviour of systems derived from the behaviour of the parts over an unobservable state space. We use coalgebras to describe and program stage games, finitely and potentially infinitely repeated hierarchical or parallel games with imperfect and incomplete information based on deterministic, non-deterministic or probabilistic decisions of learning agents in possibly endogenous networks. Our framework is compositional in that arbitrarily complex network of games can be composed. The coalgebraic approach allows to represent self-referential or reflexive structures like institutional dynamics, strategic network formation from within the network, belief formation, learning agents or other self-referential phenomena that characterise complex social systems of cognitive agents. And finally our games represent directly runnable code in functional programming languages that can also be analysed by sophisticated verification and logical tools of software engineering. Coalgebraic Multigames
Coalgebraic games have been recently introduced as a generalization of Conway games and other notions of games arising in different contexts. Using coalgebraic methods, games can be viewed as elements of a final coalgebra for a suitable functor, and operations on games can be analyzed in terms of (generalized) coiteration schemata. Coalgebraic games are sequential in nature, i.e. at each step e...

CoLoSS, the Coalgebraic Logic Satisfiability Solver, decides satisfiability of modal formulas in a generic and compositional way. It implements a uniform polynomial space algorithm to decide satisfiability for modal logics that are amenable to coalgebraic semantics. This includes e.g. the logics K, KD, Pauly’s coalition logic, graded modal logic, and probabilistic modal logic. Logics are easily...
متن کاملCategories of Coalgebraic Games
We consider a general notion of coalgebraic game, whereby games are viewed as elements of a final coalgebra. This allows for a smooth definition of game operations (e.g. sum, negation, and linear implication) as final morphisms. The notion of coalgebraic game subsumes different notions of games, e.g. possibly non-wellfounded Conway games and games arising in Game Semantics à la [AJM00]. We defi...

متن کاملFinitary logics for coalgebras with branching
The purpose of this dissertation is to further previous work on coalgebras as infinite statebased transition systems and their logical characterisation with particular focus on infinite regular behaviour and branching. Finite trace semantics is well understood [DR95] for nondeterministic labelled transition systems, and has recently [Jac04, HJS06] been generalised to a coalgebraic level where m...
